How they behave

  • The canvas keys do nothing while a field, a dialog, a menu or a list has the focus: the keys are theirs. W, A, S and D pan only while the canvas has it.
  • Menus show an item's shortcut beside it, and the buttons at the bottom of the canvas name theirs when you point at them.
  • The draft saves by itself; ⌘S or Ctrl+S saves it at once.

Common mistakes

  • ⌘Z in a field undoes the text, not the canvas. Click an empty spot on the canvas first.
  • ⌘+ to zoom the canvas zooms the whole page in your browser (Ctrl+ on Windows). Press + on its own.
  • The arrow keys pan instead of moving a node. Nothing is selected. Click the node first.
  • Delete or Backspace does nothing. A field, a dialog or a menu has the focus. Click the node on the canvas, then press the key.
