Answer an approval

Decide a request a flow is waiting on: open it under Approvals, read what it asks, and pick an option. The run goes on down the path you chose.

Steps

Open Approvals

Open Approvals. Assigned to me lists the requests waiting for you in the environment you are in; Open, every waiting request in the workspace.

Approvals, Assigned to me: one request, Approve a big order, waiting, with its detail beside the list.

Read the request

Click it: its question, its data and Who decides open beside the list. Open the run shows the run that asked.

A request beside the list: its question, Who decides, and Reject and Approve at the foot.

Pick an option

Click Approve, Reject or another option the flow offers; it may ask for a comment first. The run goes on along that option's path, and the request moves to Decided, with what you chose.

Approvals, Decided: the request marked Decided, and You chose Reject at the foot of its detail.
How it works

Each option is a path out of the Ask for approval node.

When the flow lets someone outside the workspace decide, they get an email with a link to decide without signing in. A used link, or one whose request is closed, says "This link does not work".

The page an outside approver's link opens: the request's question, what it is about, and the Approve and Reject buttons.

A request nobody answers before it expires ends the wait: the run takes its timeout path or fails, as the builder chose.

If it did not work

  • "Only the people this request names can decide it." On Prod, only those under Who decides may answer. Ask one of them, or ask the flow's builder to add you.
  • The request is not under Open. It was decided or expired: look under Decided. Or it waits in the other environment: switch at the top of the sidebar.
