Mailchimp Transactional errors

The codes Mailchimp Transactional steps can stop a run with, each with its fix and what happened.

  • MANDRILL_AUTH

    Test it under Manage → Connections.

    Mailchimp Transactional refused the connection's API key.

  • MANDRILL_FORBIDDEN

    A key can be limited to a subaccount or to sending only.

    This Mailchimp key may not do that.

  • MANDRILL_INVALID_IMAGE

    Mailchimp refuses one whose type is not an image.

    An inline image has no image file extension.

  • MANDRILL_INVALID_PARAMS

    Check its example.

    A JSON field on this node is not a JSON array.

  • MANDRILL_INVALID_REQUEST

    Check the ids and the field values on this node.

    Mailchimp refused the request.

  • MANDRILL_INVALID_RESPONSE

    Check the connection.

    Mailchimp answered something that is not JSON.

  • MANDRILL_INVALID_SEND_AT

    Mailchimp wants UTC as 2026-10-01 09:00:00.

    The schedule time is not readable.

  • MANDRILL_INVALID_TAG

    At most 50 characters, and never starting with an underscore.

    A tag cannot be used.

  • MANDRILL_NOT_FOUND

    Only recently sent mail can be looked up.

    Mailchimp knows no message, address or record by that id.

  • MANDRILL_NO_BODY

    Give it a body.

    Mailchimp will not send an empty message.

  • MANDRILL_NO_RECIPIENTS

    Fill in To, Cc or Bcc.

    This send names no recipient.

  • MANDRILL_PAYLOAD_TOO_LARGE

    Attachments ride inside it as base64, so send fewer or smaller files.

    This call is over Mailchimp's 10 MB limit.

  • MANDRILL_PAYMENT_REQUIRED

    Scheduling a message is the usual cause.

    This needs a paid Transactional plan with a positive balance.

  • MANDRILL_RECIPIENTS_REJECTED

    The addresses and the reasons are in this node's output.

    Mailchimp refused some of the recipients.

  • MANDRILL_REQUEST

    Check the node's settings.

    Mailchimp refused the request.

  • MANDRILL_RESPONSE_TOO_LARGE

    Ask for fewer messages, or narrow the search.

    Mailchimp answered more data than a run can parse.

  • MANDRILL_SUBACCOUNT_NOT_FOUND

    Mailchimp has no subaccount with that id.

  • MANDRILL_TEMPLATE_NOT_FOUND

    The slug is the immutable name, not the display name.

    No Mailchimp template with that slug.

  • MANDRILL_THROTTLED

    Message search allows 20 searches a minute and the window has to clear.

    Mailchimp is throttling this key.

  • MANDRILL_TOO_MANY_LABELS

    A Mailchimp template carries at most 10 labels.

  • MANDRILL_UNAVAILABLE

    Try again once it is back.

    Mailchimp Transactional could not be reached.
